A new WWE champion has been crowned after a major name was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury. The incident took place during the tapings of NXT Gold Rush 2025 Week Two.

Note: Spoiler ahead. Do not read any further if you wish to avoid spoilers for next week’s NXT Gold Rush.

WWE introduced the Women’s Speed Championship last year in August, with its matches exclusively airing on X. However, it became a specialized championship for NXT following the cancellation of the deal with X. Sol Ruca, who held the title for 200 days, was forced to vacate it last month due to an injury.

A tournament was organized to determine the new champion, with Fallon Henley and Zaria making it to the final. The tournament final match took place on NXT Gold Rush Week Two. The event was taped on November 18 after NXT Gold Rush Week One and will air on November 25.

As per spoilers from the show given by PWInsider, Fallon Henley defeated Zaria in Sudden Death Overtime to become the new WWE Speed Women’s Champion.

Zaria also failed to retain the WWE NXT Women’s North American Title for Sol Ruca

Sol Ruca was a double champion in NXT before an injury forced her to relinquish both titles. Zaria defended the NXT Women’s North American Title against Blake Monroe on behalf of Sol, but the Australian star failed to defeat The Glamour.

Sol Ruca, meanwhile, returned to action a few days ago. She challenged Blake Monroe for the NXT Women’s North American Title on NXT Gold Rush Week One. However, the rising star failed to reclaim the gold after Zaria, who was ringside to support her partner, threw in the towel.

Tension seems to be rising between Sol Ruca and Zaria over the past few weeks. Before the match between Sol and Blake, the former claimed that only one person could take the NXT Women’s North American Title off The Glamour, and it was her. This did not sit well with Zaria, who seemed offended, as it looked like a subtle dig at her for losing the title last month.
