Bayer Leverkusen see €12m Jonathan Clauss bid rejected

Clauss was absent from Thursday morning’s training session, attended by Get French Football News. In a press conference attended by GFFN, Haise explained the absence. “He wants to leave,” confirmed Nice manager Franck Haise.

He continued, “For him, there is a great offer from a big club. It has been a few weeks since there has been interest; it explains recent performances. We want to keep him. If there is to be an exit, then all three parties need to be respected. We aren’t there yet. We want to keep him; he knows that. Keeping a player who doesn’t want to stay is always strange.”

However, Bayer Leverkusen are yet to match Nice’s valuation. The Bundesliga giants have seen a €12m bid rejected by Le Gym, and they are now preparing a third offer for the France international.
