Karim Adeyemi has landed in trouble after being issued a penal order and fined €450,000 for illegal weapons possession.
As a result of the case, the German Football Association and Adeyemi’s club, Borussia Dortmund, announced on Wednesday that the German international has been ordered to visit Dortmund’s Nordstadtliga in the coming weeks and take part in training sessions with children.

However, as reported by Bild, the case could have far more far-reaching consequences for the attacker.
Firstly, Adeyemi has weakened his negotiating position in his ongoing contract talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal beyond 2027. The tabloid reports that BVB could even withdraw their offer to extend his contract.
At the same time, the case could negatively impact his market value and deter potential suitors for the 23-year-old, who has been linked with Inter, Manchester United and Arsenal.
If the case affects his performances on the pitch, it could ultimately cost him a spot in Germany’s World Cup squad.
Adeyemi will be under close scrutiny in the weeks to come, and the pressure is on the Dortmund attacker to prove himself on the pitch and shift the focus away from the negative headlines.
